The public is invited to farewell receptions next week in honor of Brown County District Clerk Jan Brown and Brown County Court-at-Law court administrator Brenda Arp.

Brown did not seek re-election this year and is stepping down early, leaving the office she's held for 32 years.

The reception for Brown will be held Monday, June 30, in the 35th District Courtroom. The reception begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m.

District Judge Steve Ellis has notified Cheryl Jones that he will swear her in as district clerk after the reception. Jones won the Brown County Republican Party primary race for district clerk and does not have an opponent in the November general election.

Arp, who has worked for Brown County for 18 years, is leaving to take another job. Arp's reception will be Thursday, July 3 in the court-at-law courtroom. The reception begins a 2 p.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
