Robert Porter named Groner Pitts Citizen of the Year at Chamber Banquet

Robert Porter accepts the Groner Pitts Citizen of the Year award at Thursday night's Chamber Banquet.

The Brownwood Coliseum was filled with many of the men and women who make the city go for the annual Brownwood Chamber of Commerce Banquet Thursday night.

The big winners from the evening included several very deserving residents who have dedicated much of their time to making Brownwood a great place to live.

The Groner Pitts Citizen of the Year award was given to Robert Porter for his continuous work in the community of Brownwood.

Taking home the Man and Woman of the Year awards were Hank Hunter and Ann Beadel.

Other awards given out Thursday evening included: The Ambassador of the Year award which was given to Rick Phelps, the Stuart Coleman Good Neighbor Award which was given to both Angelia Bostick and Rick Phelps, Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast took home the Small Business of the Year award, KOXE was given the Medium Business of the Year Award and the Bruner Auto Family took home the Large Business of the Year Award. In addition, the Family Service Center was named the Community Partner of the Year, Kim Peterson and Adam Lancaster were named the Volunteers of the Year and Bobby Rountree was named the Professional of the Year.
