Pair indicted in armed robbery of woman in Brownwood

Two men were indicted on charges of aggravated robbery and credit/debit card abuse in connection with robbery of a woman at gunpoint.

The April session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned the indictments against Cody Hartwig, 22, and Anthony Yeager, 30, records in Brown County District Clerk Cheryl Jones’ office state.

According to Brownwood police:

At approximately 12:30 a.m., on Feb. 19, officers responded to the 400 block of East Commerce, where a woman said a man approached her with a pistol and demanded money. The woman tried to run away, but the man grabbed her purse and fled.

A short time later, the woman’s debit card was used at a convenience store in the 600 block of West Commerce. More information was gathered there and broadcast to all local agencies.

An Early officer stopped the suspect vehicle with two occupants in the 100 block of Early Boulevard. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of  Yeager and Hartwig.
