Stolen camera report leads to drug arrests

Brownwood police were following up on a report of a stolen camera when they found methamphetamine and arrested two people.

    Demetricus Fisher, 43, and Karen Veitch, 42, were booked into the Brown County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance under 1 gram in a drug free zone, jail records state.

    Police were following up on an end-of-shift report of a stolen camera Saturday, and the investigation took them to a home in the 900 block of Baker, police said. Officers found methamphetamine and arrested Fisher and Veitch.

    In other incidents:

    • Police responded to several reports of theft, vehicle burglaries and criminal mischief, including United Supermarkets, where one person was cited for theft and a second suspect fled, and the 1200 block of Vincent, where solar-powered stake lights were taken from a yard.

    • Deputy Terry Sliter was dispatched Saturday to a report of a reckless driver who was swerving all over the road on Highway 279. Sliter found a truck parked in a ditch on FM 3021. Sliter arrested Jose Silva, 51, of Brownwood, on a DWI charge.

    Lorena Navejar, 32, Brownwood, motion to adjudicate for burglary of a habitation, theft of firearm.

    Lydia Nixon, 30, Brownwood, parole warrant.

    Joshua Perez, 21, Santa Anna, possession of marijuana.

    Christina Stewart, 32, Brownwood, domestic abuse, failure to appear.

    James Terpening, 36, Zephyr, DWI with child.

    Clayton Wilkins, 48, Blanket, violation of criminal trespass warning.
