Firearm instructor Frank Niemiec will be a guest speaker Friday at the Brown County Republican Women's Club's monthly luncheon.

A local state concealed carry instructor will discuss the open carry law as a guest speaker Friday during the Brown County Republican Women’s Club’s monthly luncheon.

At the Brownwood Country Club, Frank Niemiec, owner of Niemiec Firearms in Early, will talk about the new law, its necessary signage to be placed outside business entrances, and its functions since the passing on New Year’s Day, to those in attendance, at 11:30 a.m.

“Anyone can do it if they have a (open carry) license,” said Niemiec, who has 20 years of concealed carry instructor experience.

Frank and Merle Niemiec, his wife, are both certified National Rifle Association pistol instructors. Their business instructs concealed handgun license classes in Brownwood, Early and throughout Central Texas.

Located at 125 Garmon Dr., Niemiec Firearms focuses on offering a “comprehensive approach to the law, concealed carry techniques and marksmanship,” according to the home website.

Conaway will not attend

United States Congressman Mike Conaway, 11th District, was scheduled to be another featured guest but will not attend due to a personal matter, according to an email Tuesday from his representatives.

Membership with the Brown County Republican Women’s Club is not required to attend. The luncheon is open to the public.

Cost of the luncheon is $14 per person to be paid at the door. RSVP Anne Casas at or call 325-641-2789 by Wednesday
