A citizen submitted this photo that depicts civilians who put out a grass fire Friday night at the corner of the Access Road and Austin Avenue. The citizen explained that Kelcy Sliger Potts and Esmeralda Soto, along with their children, stopped to help put out the fire. Soto said the group was driving back from Waco when they passed the fire. Soto called 9-1-1 to report the fire, and the group joined a couple of teens in pouring water from beverage containers onto the fire. The fire went out when Soto dragged a cooler across the flames, smothering them. The fire department arrived and saturdated the grass with water. Soto is pictured as she prepares to drag the cooler across the flames.
