'Leading Ladies' opens Friday at the Lyric Theatre

Brownwood Bulletin
There’s a play rehearsal within a play on the Brownwood Lyric Theatre stage during Ken Ludwig’s comedy “Leading Ladies” that opens for an eight-show run at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Two down-on-their-luck Shakespearean actors (played by Drew Ervin and Ryan Bailey, on the right) figure they can get rich by posing as long-lost heirs to a fortune. Their scheme is complicated, however, when they learn that not only are the missing heirs nieces instead of nephews, but also the rich aunt is still alive. Also shown, at left, are Doug House and Alisa Hinton. Additional performances this weekend are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Shows next weekend will be at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8; at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9; and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10. Tickets to the show, directed by Darlyne Ervin, are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Seats may be reserved online at www.brownwoodlyrictheatre.com.
