What would you do for a Klondike bar?

An argument over the iconic ice cream treat led to an assault that landed a Brownwood man in jail, police said.

Gerald Holloway, 54, was booked into the Brown County Jail Wednesday night on a charge of assault family violence by strangulation, jail records state.

According to a police report:

Police were dispatched late Wednesday night to a home in the 400 block of West Chandler after a woman called the Ark crisis line. The call taker heard a man yelling in the background, and the call was disconnected.

Cpl. Kenyon Black arrived and spoke with a woman. She said Holloway got mad at her for eating all of the Klondike bars and hit her with a coffee mug. Then the man grabbed a stick, placed it against her neck and pinned her to a wall.

The man told officers they were "arguing over a Klondike bar."
