A Lake Brownwood area man was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly drove a golf cart into the side of a patrol car following a domestic disturbance early Friday morning.

Deputy Byron Langley arrested Curtis Harrison, 58, on charges of injury to an elderly person, assault on a public servant, resisting arrest and evading arrest, Brown County Jail records state.

Sheriff's Sgt. John Fincher said Langley had responded around 1:30 or 2 a.m. to a report that a man had assaulted his father. The suspect had driven away on a golf cart before Langley and other deputies arrived, Fincher said.

Deputies located the golf cart and had it boxed in when the driver rammed Langley's car, Fincher said.

In other incidents:

• Deputy Terry Sliter made a traffic stop Thursday morning on a vehicle with two occupants after Sliter recognized the driver as someone who didn't have a driver's license. Sliter saw the driver put his left hand to his mouth and take two large drinks from a cup.

Sliter saw a glass pipe with white residue stuffed between the passenger seat's cushion and console and also and saw a baggie with a corner bitten off. Sliter believed the driver had swallowed the bitten-off piece. Sliter located the cup the driver had taken a drink from and it was very old, Sliter's report states.

Sliter arrested the driver, Zachary Delarosa, 19, and the passenger, Juan Castaneda, 20, both of Brownwood, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and evidence tampering.

• Brownwood police took theft or burglary reports in the 600 block of Avenue G (cell phone), 4200 block of U.S. Highway 377 (tablet), 1600 block of Lane (jewelry, safe, security surveillance system and papers) and 1500 block of Waco (several electronic items).
