Affidavit: San Angelo man injures 70-year-old father with can during argument
SAN ANGELO — A San Angelo man has been arrested after injuring his 70-year-old father, according to an arrest affidavit released Tuesday.
On Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of East 40th Street and met with the victim's son. He told officers he threw a can at the back of his father's head during an argument, records state.
An officer noted the father had a cut "over an inch" in length which possibly required stitches, according to the officer's report.
John Rubio Valdez, 40, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of injury to an elderly person with intentional bodily injury and four warrants. He remained in Tom Green County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond as of 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to online jail records.
