Pre-registration set for pre-k and kindergarten

Early Primary School will register 2020-21 pre-k and kindergarten students beginning the week of Monday, June 22. Parents/guardians may register their children in the primary office from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

To qualify for kindergarten, students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2020. Early Primary School’s program is an all-day program. An appointment is required and can be made by calling (325) 643-9622.

Birth certificates, immunization records, Social Security cards, proof of residency, and photo identification of the person who is enrolling children are required. Pre-k parents must also furnish proof of income.

To qualify for pre-k, children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020, and must be unable to speak and comprehend English; be educationally disadvantaged (meaning the student is eligible to participate in free or reduced-price lunches); be homeless (as identified by 42 u.S.C. Sec. 1143A); be the child of an active duty military parent; be the child of a military parent who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; be in, or have been in foster care (form 2085 required); or be the child of a recipient of the Star of Texas Award as a peace officer, firefighter, or emergency medical first responder.
