Wheels and Deals

Are you ready for some wheeling and dealing?

It's nearly time for Wheels and Deals, the unique reverse raffle fund-raiser and event put on by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County.

The event will be held Saturday, March 22, at the Grand Starz, 2323 Belle Plain in Brownwood, and attendees will be treated to an evening of dinner, dancing, entertainment and door prizes, as well as the raffle drawing that begins at 6 p.m., a silent auction and a car show.

The winner will have his or her choice of a Chevrolet Equinox, a Ford Mustang or a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup — all 2014 models.

Tickets are $100 each, and it is not necessary to be present to win. Each ticket entitles the ticket holder and a guest to attend the event.

The Grand Starz location is different this year from past locations at the Brownwood Country Club. The event is being moved to a different venue because there is more room at the Grand Starz to accommodate the high demand.

Entertainment will be provided by the Crawfish Band.

New for this year's event will be a car show in the Grand Starz parking lot, from 4-7 p.m. There will be a $10 entry fee and a plaque will be given for the People's Choice Award.

Tickets for the raffle can be bought at the car show from 4-5:45 p.m.

The silent auction is also new.

Tickets can be purchased at:

• Big Country Ford

• Bruner Auto Group

• Stanley Dodge

• Brownwood Chamber of Commerce

• Office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County

• Brownwood Music

• Citizens National Bank

• F&M Bank

• Mills County State Bank (Early location)

•Texas Bank (downtown location)

• From Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Members

• By calling 325-643-5600

The last 10 ticket holders in the drawing may auction off their tickets. You must be present to auction a ticket. A ticket holder may choose not to accept the auction bid.

If the ticket holder does choose to accept auction bid, he or she can keep 90 percent of the bid price, with 10 percent going to the charity.

After the 13th ticket is drawn, a "Lucky 13th" ticket will be auctioned off. The winner of the bid will have the "Lucky 13th" ticket entered back into the drawing and must be present to bid on the "Lucky 13th" ticket. You must be a ticket holder to bid on the "Lucky 13th" ticke(but may have been drawn out prior to auction).
