Popular local band “Class of '57” will perform at Hamburger Night at the Cross Plains Senior Center from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25. The band performs a variety of music that ranges from the 1950s to recent hits that are always crowd-pleasers.

Fresh hot-off-the-grill burgers will be cooked outside the center by Russ Miller, Don Childers and Joe Terstegge, all members of the Barbarian Festival Committee who is sponsoring this event.

A Canned Food Drive will also be held that night to help the Senior Center in providing hot meals every weekday at lunchtime. Bring in a few cans of food, any size will do, to help out.

Dinner includes hamburger and fixins and potato chips. Pepsi,Diet Pepsi and water are being donated by the local Pepsi Distributor. Homemade banana pudding is for dessert. Dinner is $8. You can come and listen to the music without dinner for $5.

The event is sponsored by the Barbarian Festival Committee, who will be taking care of the expenses, so that all of the proceeds from the dinner will go directly to the center.

While the Senior Center receives funds from the state and federal government, the amount of money received has been reduced, causing the Senior Center to operate on a reduced budget. Fundraisers help the center in their commitment to provide a nutritious meal and a gathering place for seniors to come and exercise, quilt, play dominoes or just visit. The Senior Center needs your support. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 25, for Hamburger Night with live music from the “Class of ‘57”.

The Cross Plains Senior Center is located at 108 Main Street in Cross Plains. For more information, call the center at (254) 725-6521.
