Ranger College is hosting the Southwest region National Intercollegiate Rodeo Assoc. rodeo at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Bad Company Rodeo Co., of Del Rio, is the stock contractor, bringing some of the top rough-stock in the country.

Llew Rust, coach of the Ranger College Rodeo Team, said 430 contestants are entered, with 100 calf ropers, 104 breakaway ropers, 94 head and heel teams, 68 goat tiers, 110 barrel racers, 27 bull riders, 12 saddle bronc riders, and 11 bareback riders.

Timed event slack will be held Friday and Saturday mornings, beginning at 9 a.m.

Evening performances begin at 7 p.m. and admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children over five. Children five and under are admitted free. There is no gate fee to attend the slack.

Fans can expect to see cowboys and cowgirls who have already or are destined to compete at professional levels, including the National Finals Rodeo.
