Chili’s hosting four different days to donate to The ARK Shelter

The month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States. The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.

No one wants to talk about it. It's a difficult topic, but chances are you know someone who has been a victim of sexual assault. One out of every six American women has been a victim. According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, 44% of victims are under the age of 18. Every two minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. RAINN also asserts that 54% of sexual assaults are not reported to the police and 97% of rapists will never spend a day in jail.

Hitting close to home, The ARK Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter has been helping with victims of sexual assault for years. In addition to providing shelter, The ARK also provides an array of outreach services for victims and their families.

To help support the efforts of The ARK, Chili’s is offering 10% donation of the event day sales to the shelter. There are four different days in April that you can dine at Chili’s to help support The ARK. The days set aside for this event in April are: Monday, the 7, and on Tuesdays, the 16, 23, and 30. You can dine anytime from 10:45 a.m. through 10 p.m. but you will need to present a flyer or mention the ARK when you order.

For more information about the ARK Shelter, you can go online to www.arkshelter.org. If you would like more information about the four days of dining at Chili’s, you may call the Ark Shelter at (325) 643-2699.
