BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons improved to 2-0 in District 6-2A and 8-2-1 on the season with a 16-5 victory over Coleman Friday.

The win came on the heels of a 30-3 thrashing of Grape Creek in Tuesday’s District 6-2A opener.

Trailing 3-0 heading to the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Dragons scored three times to pull even, then added nine runs in the bottom of the third. Leading 12-3, Bangs surrendered two runs in the top of the fourth, but answered with four in the bottom of the frame to enforce the 10-run mercy rule.

Bangs’ 14-hit attack featured three each from Courtney Owen and Erin Anderson — who both homered — two apiece from Kady Kyle, Raelee Francois and Cheyenne Edwards and one hit each from Haley Pitts and Jaylee Roberts.

Kyle and Francois finished with three RBIs each followed by two from both Owen and Anderson and one each by Roberts and Edwards.

In the circle, Anderson tossed all five innings and yielded three earned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts.
