Lady Horns place third, Longhorns finish sixth at Comanche's Redskin Relays

COMANCHE — The Early Lady Horns finished third and the Early Longhorns came in sixth in the final team standings at the Redskin Relays hosted by Comanche ISD this past Friday.

The Lady Horns generated 104 points which trailed only Tolar (134) and Comanche (128). Meanwhile, the Longhorns produced 47 points which left them behind Tolar (196), Glen Rose (123), Mason (111), Comanche (71) and Dublin (57).

The Early girls returned home with seven medals — three gold, three silver and one bronze.

Event winners included Jayslin King, who finished first in both the triple jump (32-0.75) and long jump (15-10), and Meagan Richmond (6:08.81) in the 1600 meters.

Coming in second were Richmond (13:48.8) in the 3200 meters and Tuesdi Tidwell in both the 400 meters (1:03.9) and the pole vault (10-6), while Leslie Picasio finished third (85-5) in the discus.

Placing fourth were King (17.8) in the 100-meter hurdles, Tidwell (15-1) in the high jump, Wytni Thompson (57.09) in the 300-meter hurdles, Alyson Wiggins (28-7) in the shot put and the sprint relay team of King, Hallie Tyler, Alexis Ray and Tidwell (54.63).

Finishing fifth were Alexis Ray (14.02) in the 100 meters and Kady Knox (57.28) in the 400 meters, while sixth-place efforts belonged to Tyler (29.4) in the 200 meters, Thompson (19.81) in the 100-meter hurdles, the 4x200 relay team of Peige Smith, Tyler, Ray and Gabby Constancia (2:04.44) and the mile relay team of King, Knox, Constancia and Tidwell (4:39.09).

The Longhorns captured three medals — one gold and a pair of silver.

Jack Donaho came in first in the 3200 meters (11:26.08) and was runner-up in the 1600 meters (5:20.43), while Landon Beck placed second in the shot put (48.6).

Turning in fourth-place performances were Logan Thomas (9-6) in the pole vault and the sprint relay team of Grady Benton, Nike Garcia, Leonel Espinosa and Austin Simpson (46.97), while Thomas, in the 110-meter hurdles (17.88), and Tristan Bell, in the 3200 meters (12:52.09), were both fifth.

Garnering points for Early in sixth place were Garcia (12.06) in the 100 meters, the mile relay team of Isaac Martin, Riley Mitchell, Thomas and Charlie Tongate (4:01.97) and the 4x200 mile relay team of Benton, Martin, Mitchell and Simpson (1:41.06).
