BANGS — Erin Anderson tossed a four-hit shutout, and the Bangs offense generated the only run of the game in the top of the fifth inning as the Lady Dragons remained undefeated in District 6-2A softball action with a 1-0 win at Ballinger Tuesday afternoon.

Anderson struck out eight batters, did not issue a walk and scattered singles in the first, third and sixth innings. The closest Ballinger came to scoring was in the third following back-to-back one-out singles, but no Lady Cat base runner advanced past second.

Offensively, the Lady Dragons strung together a pair of two-out base hits in the fifth to produce the lone run. Kady Kyle first singled up the middle ahead of Sarah Garcia's RBI double to center, which plated Kyle.

Bangs finished with seven hits overall — one each by Garcia, Kyle, Anderson, Jaylee Roberts, Raelee Francois, Cheyenne Edwards and Katelin Laird.

The Lady Dragons (10-2-1, 4-0) resume district action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 when they host Jim Ned.
