Lions, Lady Lions soccer lock up No. 2 seeds from District 34-4A for playoffs
LORENA — Playing their first game in two weeks, the Brownwood Lions displayed very little rust in an 8-0 thrashing of the Lorena Leopards Tuesday night, which capped the regular season.
The Lions (12-6-2, 8-2) earned the second playoff seed from District 34-4A with the victory in their first outing since a 4-2 shootout victory over Salado in the home finale at Gordon Wood Stadium on March 4.
Recording goals for the Lions were Austin Snyder with a hat trick of three trailed by one apiece from Matthew Pickard, Dylan Person, Christian Lenz, Aaron Jimenez and Abraham Oviedo.
Brownwood will likely face Mexia, which ousted the Lions in the first round of the playoffs last season, though that matchup is not yet guaranteed as District 33-4A has yet to complete its season.
