Lady Lions golf posts 382 in final district tune up at Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG — With the District 8-3A golf tournament on the horizon, the Brownwood Lady Lions shot one of their best composite rounds of the season Tuesday, posting a 382 at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course during the Fredericksburg tournament.

Sydney Roberts led the Lady Lions with a round of 79, which landed her in a tie for fifth place overall. The top four rounds of the day were a 73, a 75, a 77 and a 78.

Audrey McKillip carded her best round of the season for the Lady Lions with a 97, trailed by Krista Fragua with a 102, Jessica Barrera with a 104 and Sierra Mendez and Kylee McCoy, both with rounds of 131.

Sonora won the team championship with a composite score of 331, while Fredericksburg and San Antonio Clark finished tied for second at 351.

The Lady Lions will compete in the two-round District 8-3A tournament at Lampasas on April 4 and at Burnet on April 7.
