Lions, Lady Lions wrap up stay at Texas Relays

AUSTIN – The Brownwood High contingent competed in its final two of nine events at the 87th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday.

The Lions 4x100 relay team of Tristan Duque, Bruce Sterling, Kaimon Ontiveros and Connor Howard began the day by placing fifth in their heat, and 23rd overall in the small school draw, with a time of 44.79.

Victoria Henry then returned to the site of her UIL Class 3A silver medal performance in the shot put a year ago and placed 20th among competitors in all high school classifications with a best effort of 37-6.75.

Brownwood has a practice meet scheduled for Thursday at Gordon Wood Stadium, then the Lions and Lady Lions will take part in the District 8-3A meet hosted by Liberty Hill April 9-10
