7-3A SOFTBALL/BASEBALL: Lady Horns blank Brady, 10-0; Dragons edged by Comanche, 13-12

BANGS — The Bangs Dragons wrapped up their regular season with a 13-12 home loss to Comanche Monday night. The game was being made up following Friday’s rain out.

Bangs (8-12-1, 2-6) trailed 5-0 after two innings, but drew even at 5 in the bottom of the third and opened a 7-5 advantage through four frames.

Comanche jumped back in front 9-7 in the top of the fifth, but the Dragons fired back to reclaim a 10-9 edge through five complete.

The Indians responded with their second straight four-spot in the top of the sixth to build a 13-10 advantage. Bangs scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Dragons could not complete the comeback.

Bangs committed nine errors, while Comanche recorded 11 hits and drew four walks.

Offensively, the Dragons collected 10 hits and drew eight walks.

Chance Beck finished 3-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBIs to pace Bangs, while Chane Burton chipped in two hits and three RBIs. Mason Reichenau drew four walks and scored four runs.

Also for Bangs, David Wells chipped in one hit and one RBI while Colton Brewer finished with two hits. Payton Hamrick and Austin Walker recorded one hit apiece.

On the mound for the Dragons, Brewer pitched two innings and gave up five earned runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Brayden James yielded eight runs — none earned — on eight hits with five strikeouts and two walks.



EARLY — The Early Lady Horns wrapped up their regular season with a 10-0 victory over Brady Monday in a game that was postponed this past Friday.

Statistical information on the game was unavailable at press time.

The Lady Horns will face Breckenridge in a Region I-3A bi-district softball series this weekend. Early will host the first game at 6 p.m. Thursday, with Games 2 and 3, if needed, to follow beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Abilene Christian University.
