Bangs volleyball clinches playoff berth with sweep of Comanche

BANGS — The Bangs Lady Dragons clinched the fourth and final volleyball playoff berth from District 6-3A with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-18 victory over Comanche on Senior Night Tuesday.

Bangs (10-20, 3-7) will face either Clyde or Jim Ned, who will square off for District 5-3A's top seed, next week in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

“I'm extremely proud of the girls and the hard work they've put in,” said Lady Dragons' first-year head coach Cheyenne Lovelady. “We are excited we were able to achieve our playoff goal.”

Senior Kyra Smith led the charge for Bangs with six kills, five aces and 10 digs. Maggie Morales and Jacee Miller each contributed seven kills. Halle Lance finished with nine assists, seven digs and two aces, and Skylar Hutchins logged a team-high 12 digs.
