Lions, Lady Lions soccer fall at Stephenville

STEPHENVILLE — The Brownwood Lady Lions remained winless in District 4-4A soccer action as they closed the first half of league play with a 6-1 loss to Stephenville Tuesday night.

Brownwood (9-6-1, 0-3) surrendered the first four goals as Stephenville scored at the 33:56, 31:05, 27:43 and 17:14 marks.

The Lady Lions tallied their lone goal with 5:21 left in the first half as Tristan Escamilla found the net following an assist from Jaycee Lenz.

In the second half, Stephenville extended its cushion by scoring with 34:56 left, and Brownwood recorded an own goal at the 28:31 mark.

The Lady Lions start the second half of district action at 6 p.m. Friday at Abilene Wylie.

STEPHENVILLE — The Brownwood Lions, coming off their first District 4-4A victory Friday against Mineral Wells, were blanked by the Stephenville Yellow Jackets, 3-0, Tuesday to round out the first half of league play.

The Lions (2-8-2, 1-2) will venture to Abilene Wylie at 8 p.m. Friday.
