Pair of Lady Lions garner TABC honors

Postseason accolades continued to pour in for members of the Brownwood Lady Lions basketball team this week after the program’s deepest postseason run.

District 6-4A MVP Trejouir Wilson was one of 20 players selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Class 4A All-State team, and she also earned a spot on the all-Region I-4A squad. Mallory Garcia, the newcomer of the year in 6-4A, was also named all-Region I-4A by the TABC.

Wilson, a 5-7 senior guard, averaged 20.2 points, 4.3 assists, 3.4 steals and 3.3 rebounds per game. She was selected to the all-tournament team at the Brock Showcase and the Fidelity Holiday Classic. Wilson surpassed 1,600 points for during her senior season and is the all-time leading scoring in Lady Lion basketball history.

Garcia, a 5-8 freshman guard, drained 61 three-pointers and averaged 10 points, 4.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals for a Lady Lions squad that posted a 25-8 overall record and reached the Region I-4A semifinals.
