It’s an expression rarely heard these days, perhaps because there are so many lenses through which life-in-a-hurry can be viewed. When’s the last time you heard, “I saw it with my own eyes”? I never expected to see gambling interests advertising on TV sports or promotion of something called bitcoins.

The Brownwood High School Academic Awards Ceremony was held Thursday. Students were honored in a variety of academic and extracurricular fields, including the valedictorian and salutatorian presentations. Valedictorian honors were presented to Weston Burns, and salutatorian honors were awarded to Olivia Fowler. Burns and Fowler are scheduled to walk the stage at Gordon Wood Stadium on Friday, May 27, as part of the graduating class of 2022. WASHINGTON – A massive recall is getting most of the blame for the U.S. baby formula shortage, but experts say the products have long been vulnerable to this type of crisis due to decades-old policies that have allowed a handful of companies to corner the market.

With the shortage of infant formula on store shelves and uncertainty of when there may be new supplies, many people are turning to the internet and social media to find out how to make their own infant formula at home.

Representatives of the Heart of Texas Shrine Club donated a total of $5,000 to area volunteer fire departments Monday. Fire chiefs from the Dam, Bridge, Winchell, North Lake, May, Blanket, Brookesmith and Zephyr fire departments gathered outside the Brown County Courthouse, where club president Sammie Stewart, accompanied by other members of the club, presented each fire chief with a check for $625.
