An evening of community worship and prayer will be held outside the Brown County Courthouse from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 31.

Sandra Spellman Camp
May 10, 1936 - July 26, 2022 Brown County native Sandra Jean Spellman Camp, age 86, died July 26, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with family members and a chaplain at her bedside. Camp was a 1954 Brownwood High School graduate and a proud Texas Tech University graduate in 1958.

Employees make sacrifices caring for dying worker
DEAR ABBY: A co-worker has been stricken with multiple stage-4 cancers. We all have been compassionate and caring, supporting him through the challenges of treatment and the side effects. His condition is terminal, in the final stage and deteriorating rapidly. He does have a supportive family, but we don’t have the heart to send him home and take away the only thing that gives him his reason to live -- his work. So we spend our time providing hospice care, something none of us have any training for.
Ten defendants sentenced in felony court
Ten defendants were recently sentenced in 35th Judicial District Court. According to District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office: Crystal Dianne New, on probation for credit or debit card abuse, was revoked and sentenced to six years in prison.
