DENTON, Texas (AP) — A man on trial in Texas died Thursday after drinking from a large water bottle containing a cloudy liquid as a jury found him guilty of child sexual assault, officials said. Edward Leclair, 57, was on trial in Denton, located about 40 miles (64 kilometers) northwest of Dallas, on five counts involving one victim.
BANGS – Weldon Wilson and John Mathews, 1960s graduates who comprise the second class of Bangs ISD Hall of Honor inductees, have always been connected by sports. They played football together at Bangs High School for three years, including the 1959 bidistrict championship season in which Wilson was a sophomore and Mathews a freshman.

As millions of Texas children head back to school, the Texas Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to stay focused and drive safe in and around school zones and bus stops. This includes adhering to a new Texas law that requires drivers to stop and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.
