The Bettie Coggin Tabor house is the two story colonial home at 1710 Vincent Ave. It was English style, constructed of hand cut stone. The house was purchased in 1977 by Billy Lee and wife, Charlotte Laughlin. The following story about the house was written by Charlotte Laughlin in 1986.

School is back in session. With that, parents will be faced with hungry children returning home looking for a snack as they unwind from a hard day of hitting the books. Statistics indicate that foodborne illness continues to be a health issue in the United States. Each year, 1 in 6 Americans will become sick, 128,000 will become hospitalized, and 3,000 will die due to a foodborne illness.

Despite the drought’s grip on most of the state, hunters should have plenty of opportunities to bag doves when the season opens in September. Initial numbers are on par with what we’ve seen for the past three or four years, which is a little bit below the long-term average.
