No. 17 A&M seeks 2-0 SEC start against Bulldogs

Having seen his team regain its swagger since an upset loss, Jimbo Fisher now wants consistency from No. 17 Texas A&M. That will be important on Saturday when the Aggies visit Mississippi State. Last fall’s 26-22 loss in College Station showed the Bulldogs can take advantage of chances. The Aggies have moved past being upset by Appalachian State this year but knocking off Miami and Arkansas. MSU rebounded from losing its SEC opener at LSU by routing Bowling Green.

HPU’s Anderson breaks school golf record with 66

TEMPLE -- Howard Payne’s Kyle Anderson set a school record for lowest round by shooting a 66 in the second round of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Invitational this week at Anderat Sammons Golf Course. Anderson battled back from 17th place after the first day of the tournament. His final-round 66 earned him a three-way tie first place among the medalists. His 66 broke the previous HPU record (non-scholarship era) of 68 that Anderson held with Kaleb Brown (from 2021) and Andrew Errico (2018).
