Murray issues statement on Williford sentencing

District Attorney Micheal Murray’s offi ce issued a statement about the sentencing of Evan Williford to 50 years in prison for the murder of his then-girlfriend’s 7-month-old son. The statement follows: Evan Travis Williford, 25, pleaded guilty to murder Wednesday in the murder of 7-monthold Eryian Vaughan in 2019. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Judge Mike Smith sentenced Williford to 50 years incarceration on the muder charge. Williford will have to serve half of this sentence before he becomes eligible for parole. As part of the plea agreement, Williford waived his right to appeal his conviction.
