Mozelle “Mo” Bennie, age 91, passed away on Sunday October 9th at her home in Abilene, Texas. Mozelle was born on November 21, 1930 in Waco, Texas to Warren and Emma Davidson Jowers.
Ryan Mark Rudloff, 51, passed away on October 10, 2022. A Memorial Service will be 2pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the 4th & Stewart Church of Christ in Brownwood, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home. Ryan was born at Brownwood Community Hospital on August 20, 1971 in Brownwood, Texas, to Connie and Caryl Rudloff. He graduated from Early High School in 1989. He went on to proudly serve active duty in the US Navy for four years and completed his Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy in 2004. Ryan married Tammy Lynn Rappmund on May 7, 2010, in Brownwood, TX and they began a life together that included his three children. Anyone who knew Ryan knew he was a giver and loved crafting. He thoroughly enjoyed wood working, jewelry making, and gifting his creations to many just to see them smile. He loved working in the medical field and helping his patients. He took calls any time of day or night to help someone in need. Ryan is survived by his wife, Tammy Rudloff; son Matthew Dylan Rudloff; daughter Rachel Hernandez and husband Hector, and their son Oliver; daughter Sarah Wilkins and husband Vincent, and their son Thomas; mother, Caryl Johnson and step-father Terry; brother Tim Rudloff and wife LaNita; brother Jed Rudloff and wife Jessica; aunt Margaret Stockman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Connie Lynn Rudloff; grandfathers, GE Edwards, Johnnie Rudloff, and Joe Chrane; grandmothers, Joyce Edwards and Mary Chrane; and Uncle Jimmy Rudloff. His dad jokes, witty sense of humor, and bigger than life smile and personality will be dearly missed by so many. The Strategic Alliance for Leadership and Social Action (SALSA) 2022 class of Mexicano Trailblazers of Brownwood will be awarded at a private dinner for SALSA members and invited guests Saturday. SALSA spokesperson Susie Flores said the are “truly exceptional and top of the class.” With 16 earned college degrees, six honorary doctorates, and scholarly endeavors between them, they have taken the word “achievement” to a much higher level, Flores said.
The “butterfly theory” suggests that the minuscule amount of air disturbed by the flapping of a butterfly’s wings in Africa can grow, if conditions are right, into a major hurricane that causes millions of dollars of property damage on the other side of the Atlantic.

STEPHENVILLE – The Brownwood boys’ and girls’ cross country team earned team berths in upcoming Region I-4A meet after their finishes Tuesday at the District 6-4A meet. The Lady Lions finished with 41 points and placed second to Glen Rose’s 38 points in the District 6-4A girls’ team standings.
