Zephyr defense corrals Blanket 38-30
ZEPHYR – The Zephyr Bulldogs completed their regular-season rags to riches story by beating the Blanket Tigers 38-30 Friday night in the District 15-1A Division II championship football game. Zephyr won its ninth consecutive game and finished the regular season 9-1 overall and 4-0 in district just one year after going winless with a 0-10 record.
Murder indictment returned in shooting death
The October session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned a murder indictment against Jose Alfonso Portillo, 28, of Brady in the shooting death of a Brownwood man, District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office said.
