The Brownwood Lady Lions’ basketball team valiantly battled a much taller Burnet team – until the final seven minutes of a 63-40 Lady Dawgs’ win Monday night at Warren Gym. Burnet outscored Brownwood 26-9 in the final 6:43 to pull away and improve to 10-4 this season.

The Texas Department of Public Safety arrested the driver of a pickup that authorities believe was involved in a hit-and-run in Mills County that took the life of a tow truck driver.
