Brownwood High inducts 26 into National Honor Society
Brownwood High School recently held an induction ceremony for 26 new members in the Eisenhower Chapter of the National Honor Society. District Judge Mike Smith was the guest speaker.

On to basketball … Up-tempo Lions have holes to fill in Parker’s second year
The Brownwood Lions’ basketball team lost six seniors and about three-fourths of its scoring from last season, but don’t tell second-year coach Will Parker it’s a rebuilding year. “I never look at seasons that way,” said Parker, who guided the Lions to a 24-10 overall record, a district runner-up finish at 6-2 and a bidistrict championship last season in his coaching debut in Brownwood.
Drop to 2A gives Dragons renewed hope
Like in all their sports this school year, the Bangs boys’ basketball team has renewed hope this year with their drop in the UIL realignment from Class 3A to 2A. In doing so, the Dragons also escaped a highly competitive district that included perennial state-ranked powers Peaster and Brock.
