Eight defendants sentenced in district court

The following cases were recently heard in the 35th Judicial District, according to District Attorney Micheal Murray’s office: Edward Lloye Wells pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Wells pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver - drug free zone and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Wells pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Grand jury returns 28 indictments

The December session of the Brown County Grand Jury returned 28 indictments. According to District Attorney Micheal Murray’s offi ce, those indicted were: Edgar Alejandro Serrato Jr., possession of a controlled substance Dontea Marquis Dillard, assault family violence Richard Clay Stanley, theft of firearm Forrest Warren Stevens, possession of marijuana Alejandro Tamayo-Garcia, possession of a controlled substance Guillermo Valades-Lopez, possession of a controlled substance Cynthia Darlene Webb, possession of a controlled substance Jerry Don Wallace Jr., possession of a controlled substance Brianna Joyce Horn AKA Brianna Joyce Yoder, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, possession of a controlled substance Jesse Glen Malaer, possession of a controlled substance Juan Diego Caporales, possession of a controlled substance Michael Ray Duke, DWI Tristan Scantling, possession of a controlled substance David Zamora Jr., possession of a controlled substance
