HPU’s Model UN team receives accolades at conference

Howard Payne University’s Model United Nations (MUN) team recently competed at the Northwest Model UN conference in Portland where they received the outstanding delegation award. HPU’s team had the top delegate in the most advanced committee and a distinguished delegate in the intermediate committee. HPU’s team was one of the eight delegations participating in the conference, alongside schools including University of Texas at Dallas, Western Washington University, Montana State University, University of Canada West and others.

The Royal Card Club brings legal poker, economic boost to downtown Brownwood

The Royal Card Club, a new social card club, is set to open at 104 S. Broadway in Downtown Brownwood, offering a legal, safe, and vibrant space for poker enthusiasts. Operating on a membership model, the club allows players to enjoy live card games without competing against the "house," distinguishing it from casinos or illegal card rooms. Members pay a modest "seat fee" to cover operational costs, employee wages, and member benefits, ensuring a community-focused experience.
