The City of Brownwood announced the appointment of Tarino Russell as the new Director of People and Performance. With over two decades of experience in human resources, leadership and program management, Russell brings a wealth of expertise to this pivotal role. Russell will officially begin his role on April 28.

Howard Payne University recently recognized four students at its annual Servant Leadership Awards Chapel for their servant leadership on campus and in the community. Those honored were Brylee Awbrey of Midland, Patricia Garibaybartolo of Nolanville, Luke Moss of Brownwood and Evangeline Skolaut of New Braunfels.
During my pre-retirement, I accepted work assignments to two other Texas cities where daily newspapers were also managed by the company that then was also operating the Bulletin. Each was of a comparable size as Brownwood, and each was the county seat of counties with populations similar to ours.
