BROWNWOOD COMMUNITY GARDEN OPERATIONS REPORT

Fall arrived over a month ago, so by October we could have been  sipping on hot apple cider while wrapped up in warm, cozy sweaters. Those days will eventually come, but this year October weather was nearly perfect for growing our vegetables - no cold front(s) to take out the fall crops we planted when sweat was already dripping from our foreheads by 7:00 a.m. as those seeds were going into the ground. Plus, many of our spring plants are waking up from the nap they took when the blazing hot summer temperatures left them with little strength to produce their crops.
