Bangs fire department receives $22,449 grant

BANGS — The Bangs Volunteer Fire Department will use a $22,249 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority to purchase six sets of bunker gear, the protective clothing firefighters wear to shield themselves from heat, flames and other firefighting hazards, as well as an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Ehrler/Lucas and Connell/Wheeler Advance to Championship at General Tire Team Series Folds of Honor 

EARLY – The Team 7 Brew Coffee duo of Brent Ehrler and Justin Lucas caught 14 scorable largemouth bass on Lake Brownwood, Monday, weighing 34 pounds even to win Match 2 of the Knockout Round at the Folds of Honor Patriot Cup Presented by recteq in Early, Texas. The win secures Team 7 Brew Coffee a spot in Tuesday’s finale. Also advancing, in second place, is the Team Lucas Oil squad of Dustin Connell and Jacob Wheeler, who caught 15 bass totaling 31-1.

Business Expo and Food Truck Cook Off is Nov. 7

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce announced the Business Expo and Food Truck Cook Off presented by 3M will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Brownwood Coliseum, 500 E. Baker St. The event will feature exhibitors from a variety of industries and a food truck cook off competition.
